Membership 

The Dean's Council may include:

  • Patrons - Individuals who have made a significant commitment to the Faculty or industry.  Patrons are not required to attend meetings but will make themselves available to assist, when necessary.
  • Consultants – The Chair may appoint Consultants who are able to provide assistance and direction to the Committee within a certain area of expertise.  They are not required to attend meetings.   

Meeting frequency

The Council meets three times a year and all members must attend (in person, via telephone or video conference) a minimum of two meetings.

Appointment to the Dean’s Council will be for an initial term of three years and the purpose and future direction of the Council will be reviewed on a bi-annual basis. There will be an option to renew membership on an annual basis.

 


The Dean’s Council contributes to the academic, research and fundraising goals of the Faculty and introduces a network of individuals, business and government contacts willing to work in partnership with the University.

      Key duties


      • Provide leadership and advice to the Dean in regards to the development of the Faculty’s academic, research and fundraising strategic priorities.
      • Raise the profile of the Faculty and build links with key stakeholders within domestic and international business communities, State and Federal governments, and relevant international bodies.
      • Offer feedback and guidance towards the development and implementation of the Faculty’s vision and strategy.
      • Where appropriate, be the first to give support to any strategic fundraising initiative commensurate with their personal/corporate ability to give.
      • Provide introductions, help cultivate and be willing to engage potential supporters as required.
