We welcome everyone in first-year engineering at UWA! Your first-year experience includes gaining knowledge, supportive staff and many other new students who are just like you.

Help with your enrolment and advice on selecting units is available.

Engineering first years participate in a range of extra-curricular and co-curricular activities to direct them into the new professional focus of their engineering studies.

These activities fall under First-Year Engineering Workshops (GENG1004):

1. One-on-one peer tutoring
2. Office Fridays
3. First-year student presentations

You cannot enrol in GENG1004, but it will appear in your timetabling system (OLCR), so you will need to take it into account when working out your timetable.

One-on-one tutoring

Senior engineering undergraduates provide free one-on-one tutoring in all first-year Faculty units. Meet your peer tutors for 2009 in the Old Senate room.

First year Course and Career Advice day

The Course and Careers day will be held on Thursday 23rd April 2009 at the University Club.  Please see the pdf documents below for details.

Office Fridays

Network with other students, Faculty staff and representatives from industry at Office Fridays. Wear smart casual, office attire. Check your email for further detail.

First-year student presentations

Occasionally, one-on-one tutoring on Fridays are suspended to bring together every first-year engineering student for a presentation. Check your email for further notice.
