These official Faculty policies cover assessment, overloads and honours classification.
Assessment
- The Assessment practices and procedures policy deals with the formal assessment of work contributing to a student's final mark in the units which they're enrolled.
- The Examinations and Appeals policy outlines the responsibility of the Board of Examiners and their decision making process in regards to appeals.
- Supplementary assessment summarises University-wide rules regarding circumstances where supplementary assessments are awarded to students.
- The Calculator policy outlines the rules concering student use of calculators in exams and tests.
Academic misconduct
The Faculty Academic Conduct Advisor (ACA) is Dr Jenny Hopwood, Associate Dean (Students). The role of the ACA within the Faculty is set out in the Academic misconduct guidelines provided on the Teaching and Learning website.
Enrolment and classification
- The Overload policy determines whether a student is permitted to enrol in more than a standard load.
- The Honours Classification policy determines whether a student completing a Bachelor of Engineering or a combined degree course is eligible for honours upon completion of their course.
