UWA Engineering Foundation Research and Innovation Showcase
11th November 2009
5.30pm - 7.30pm
Building on its very successful inaugural UWA Engineering, Computing and Mathematics Research and Innovation Showcase in 2008, UWA's Engineering Foundation is hosting an even bigger and better event in 2009! In accordance with it's current focus, the Foundation invites industry and government to join with UWA researchers in developing and sustaining mutually supportive collaborations that give rise to world class research and train world-class graduates.
Come along and find out about the exciting research opportunities and state-of-the-art research facilities and equipment, including some of the best in the world in many areas, that you can access through the Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics and associated disciplines at The University of Western Australia. Tell us about your interests and needs. Learn about funding schemes that you can apply to with your UWA partners to fund innovative research projects, or exchange staff and students between industry and academia
The Research and Innovation Showcase 2009 will highlight the research capabilities of our internationally renowned flagship research in, for example, the Centre for Offshore Foundation Systems, the Centre for Ecohydrology and the Eureka award winning Microelectronics group. We will also demonstrate exciting and new, cutting edge research projects in areas such as clean energy, biomedical engineering, mining, security and sensing environmental engineering, information science and combinatorics.
The main focus of the evening will be opportunities to select information on more than 50 individual research projects and for informal networking with researchers and industry colleagues. The evening will include brief case study presentations on successful partnerships and information on the mechanisms available for collaboration, from student projects to Government leveraged ARC Linkage projects. We look forward to welcoming you to UWA on the 11th November, 5.30pm at the Engineering Foundation Research and Innovation Showcase 2009.
