Completing the Engineering Science major at UWA will see you graduate well-equipped for a career where you will use science, mathematics and creativity to plan, build or design solutions to technical problems or processes.
An Applied Computing major focuses on data and scientific computation and will provide you with practical computing and information technology skills that will greatly complement knowledge and skills acquired in science and engineering majors.

Graduates in computer science revolutionise the way we live, work and communicate through data and scientific computation and the development of new technologies and programming.The Computer Science major will give you the knowledge and skills required to be a part of this revolution.

The Mathematics and Statistics major is a broadly-based major that equips students with the mathematical tools and techniques of at least two of the three major disciplines of Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics.

An increasing number of industries use quantitative reasoning for improving product and service quality, increasing efficiency in the workplace, and assessing their growth strategies. The Quantitative Methods major will serve as the basis for a career in quantitative methods or as a strong complementary component of a degree in science, engineering, computing or other fields.
All students must satisfy UWA's level of English Language Competency. The following additional prerequisites are required for each of our majors.

Students who have not completed at least Mathematics 3C/3D will need to enrol in a Bachelor of Science and complete additional mathematics units to bring their knowledge up to the required level prior to commencing the Engineering Science major. Students will not be able to complete any of the units required for the Engineering Science major in at least their first semester, until they have successfully completed mathematics study equivalent to Mathematics 3C/3D. As a result, students will likely require at least an additional semester to complete their degree and have a restricted choice of second major.
