This course enables graduates from any discipline to develop their knowledge and skills in one or more areas of the mathematical sciences.

Course outline

Students must complete a 96 point program which can be taken by coursework or by way of coursework and dissertation.  Program is 2 years full-time.

Core units: 

• MATH8513 Dissertation 513 Part 1 (9 points)
• MATH8514 Dissertation 513 Part 2 (9 points)

One of the following pairs of units:

• MATH8526 Dissertation 526 Part 1 (9 points) and MATH8527 Dissertation 526 Part 2 (9 points)
• MATH8525 Dissertation 525 Part 1 (21 points) MATH8530 Dissertation 525 Part 2 (21 points)

Units to make up the remaining number of points as recommended by the Head of the School of Mathematics and Statistics.

Admission requirements

A bachelors degree of this University with a major in mathematics, statistics or related subject areas with an average mark of at least 60% in the Level 3 units for the major, or equivalent as recognised by the Faculty.
