Network. Not only with industry but with everyone at university. Your classmates today will be your clients, colleges and bosses in the future and enjoy your studies. You'll miss them when they are over.

I chose to study at UWA because of the recognition the University has in industry, the beautiful grounds and the great social life. While studying, I have really enjoyed my master’s research project, it generated opportunities to add to the engineering profession and network with industry leaders.

Heading into class for the day, whether an engineering lecture, tutorial or lab, I most look forward to getting my hands dirty and attaining a grass roots understanding of what is happening in engineering projects and how it all works.

My advice to prospective students who have aspirations for Civil Engineering or Engineering would be to network. Not only with industry but with everyone at university. Your classmates today will be your clients, colleges and bosses in the future. Shout some rounds at the tavern, make some friends and enjoy your studies. You'll miss them when they are over.

To get my vacation work opportunities I applied everywhere. Shook some hands and made some memorable impressions.
