General Manager - Business Development and Strategy, Clough

UWA helped prepare me for my career by giving me a great foundation of important learning skills.  More tangibly, the close engagement of UWA with industry also helped facilitate job opportunities.

Studying at UWA was probably one of the best periods of my life.  While the engineering degree involved a lot of contact hours, going to UWA was a lot of fun - the extra-curricular activities made sure of that.  It was a challenging time too though and I’ve made life-long friends through the whole experience.

UWA helped prepare me for my career by giving me a great foundation of further learning and important learning skills.  More tangibly, the close engagement of UWA with industry also helped facilitate job opportunities.  I was lucky enough to secure a scholarship with Clough.

Now, I’m leading business development of an engineering contractor.  It’s challenging in these current times, so needless to say I’m flat out. I’ve realised through my career that the engineering degree lends itself to so much more outside of engineering.  While I’ve worked in detailed engineering design, project engineering and project management, I’ve also worked across other industries in banking, corporate finance and private equity.
