Supercomputer visualisation: Immersive dome environment

WASP provides visualisation services in support of scientific research at UWA.

Facilities include the first access gride node in the state and the WA supercomputer and related services.

Access grid

The Interactive Virtual Enviroments Centre is host to the first access grid node in Western Australia, providing an ensemble of resources used to support group-to-group, grid-based interaction across the world.

Cray XT3TM supercomputer

Supercomputer visualisation: Stereoscopic projection/display systemThe Western Australian Supercomputer Project (WASP) at UWA has a Cray XT3TM supercomputer and related services, with an initial 0.85 Teraflop capacity.

This unique system operates on true distributed computing, allowing it to run massively parallel computing applications faster than cluster systems.

It is the first supercomputer of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere accessible to researchers.
